How to Import XCMG Construction Machinery from China？

Thinking about importing a XCMG equipment from China but don’t know how to do? Learn the key steps—from finding reliable suppliers to shipping and customs. Here is a simple guide to help you through the process.

Step 1: Find a Reliable Supplier

Not all the suppliers are reliable，some customers may be scammed. So looking for a good supplier is the most important step.

Verify supplier qualifications: You can conduct a factory inspection in advance, or ask the supplier to provide business, manufacturing, and export qualifications. Many top suppliers, such as Shandong Heavy Truck and Machinery Co., Ltd., have more than 10 years exporting experience and excellent on-time delivery records.

Step 2: Understand Delivery Terms

When you negotiate the price, you will see terms like EXW, FCA, FOB, CIF, and DDP. For machinery，FOB and CIF are most use. Let me introduce one by one：

EXW: Yourself or forwarder in China pick up the goods from the supplier’s factory or warehouse , and you are responsible for all risks after the goods are picked up.
FCA: You have a forwarder in China ,the supplier only need to ship the goods to the your forwarder in China. The supplier covers the land cost to the forwarder’s warehouse.

FOB (Free on Board): The supplier covers costs until the machine is loaded onto the boat in China port. You are responsible for shipping, insurance, and customs on your destination port .

CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight): The supplier includes shipping and insurance to your destination port . You only need to do Custom clearance on your local port.

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): DDP also means door to door, the supplier handles everything—including customs duties and taxes. This is the easiest option for beginners, but not suitable all the business. Most forwarder can only ship to the port .

Step 3: Prepare the Required Documents

Before your machine arrives at the port, you need to have these documents ready for customs:

Commercial Invoice: A detailed bill from the supplier(include company information， unit price ,quantity ,total amount etc. ).

Packing list: A detailed list for the products you buy.

Bill of Lading(B/L): The shipping document that confirms your ownership.

Other documents: Customs requirements may vary from country to country. You can consult your local customs office before importing to see if any additional import documentation is required.

Step 4: Arrange Shipping and Customs Clearance

Sea transport is generally divided into full container load (FCL), less than container load (LCL), bulk cargo, roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels, and flatbed carriers.Choosing the right shipping method based on the product's size and weight can save a lot of costs.Such as XE60GA small excavator ,it can put in a full container, like XE215G,it’s too big ,so bulk cargo or Ro-ro is the best choose.

When your machine arrives at the destination port, a customs broker can handle the clearance process for you. You need to submit the documents, pay the tax, and the custom will released the machine to you .
